Sunset – Mkaio

Give a listen to a new project I got to sing some background vocals on. Mkaio a.k.a Matt has been a real supportive friend of mine for a long time. When i was about 14 we recorded a couple songs at his house. His mom was my awesome high school choir teacher! We were in a boy group (like back street boys hahaha) together and i remember in 9th grade i went to almost every high school dance with Matt. He would always make these rad remix tapes every year and i feel like his musical taste rubbed off on me a bit during those years.

In college when i recorded my first SUPER rough demo Matt took the time to remix some of my songs. I remember him explaining to me how out of time all my recordings were and how he had to doctor them into a steady BPM (Beats Per Minuet) haha. I’m still no pro with a metronome but I have gotten little better since then…i think :).

Long story short, Matt/Makaio rocks! Thanks for having me on your project and i stoked your taking time out for this new project!

Wedding Singer

I LOVE BEING A PART OF LOVE STORIES! The Groom (Mike, from Texas) hit me up a year ago to book me to sing at his wedding. I haven’t been gigging much the last couple years trying to get the new record done but when i get a chance to join two people on their special wedding day there’s something i have a hard time turning down haha. I think it’s because most of my songs are based around love and my marriage and wedding are such a strong place where these reflections come back to me and lift my spirits. Getting paid to play is always a plus too :).

So get this, I drop off my kids at a friends house, start heading up the mountain drive to Park City (Utah) and my car completely DIES!!!! WHAT THE!? Coolest part about my car dieing is that it died as i noticed and rolled into a service station haha. Still not that funny though cause i had a wedding to get to that was a year in the making! So i called up my buddy and his wife that were watching my kids and asked if one of them could take me up to the wedding and stay with me…I HAVE THE BEST FRIENDS EVER! They totally came through, i made it on time and the wedding was beautiful. It was raining on the way up and i was worried about my gear getting rained on…but low and behold it cleared up the closer we got to the top of Deer Valley and the wedding was beautiful. People trickled in as i sang some old and new cubworld love songs and some covers. The sound was good and the service seemed flawless! Really lifted my spirits to have it go so well.

PS: My buddy drove me and my kids home later that nigh, i got a rental, my radiator completely BLEW! All fixed, and the money i made from the wedding helped pay for it…win win haha.

Just a quick ALOHA!

It’s summer time and the heat vibe is in full effect! Concerts, parties…woot woot! And im still draggin my feet on my album. Lame i know but im still working on it. I have track number 8 of 10 just about to get done and I’m super stoked about it. The last two songs should be pretty chill getting done as they are more acoustic based tracks. I’m really hoping to have this record done before the summer is over because there are just some perfect beach/pool side jams on this record that ya’ll need to hear and share with your friends.

Jaseboard, Fire, and Cubworld

This has to be the coolest things to date that one of my songs have been used in. The back track is call “Shaka Laka” and is NOT released yet. The owner of Jaseboards hit me up to see if i had a song to use in this video so i shot him a ruff idea of a song i was working on, next thing i know i had an email from my other buddy Matt (Mkaio) who turnt up my ruff track into what your hearing behind this video! He really did take my bubble gum track and pimped it out!! Got me even more excited to finish the song. Shaka Laka will be on my next release. Enjoy this teaser for the song along with never before seen FIRE KNIFING ON A LONGBOARD!!! Aweosmeness!

The Vibrant Sound – EP

This was a great project to work on. I’ve been hangin with The Vibrant Sound crew for a while and it’s only natural when creative minds get together they eventually put a song together. I’m Still Alive

Hey guys. Just dropping a quick note on the website letting you know I’m okay, alive, and still working at the album. Since my last blog update I’ve moved into a new home, recorded more of the album, and dug deeper into my day job to keep the lights on for my family. I’ve been using bandcamp since its beta days so im a big fan and have been building a library of rookie tunes and my releases for a bit. I was real stoked when they announced a facebook integration.
